Psychosocial Issues in Covid-19 Era

Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSSH) UTM, Malaysia organized the firstFSSH-FBS International Colloquium on the theme “Psychosocial Issues in Covid-19 Era”on 8th December 2021. This Colloquiumis a follow-up to the MOU between SGT and UTM. Prof. (Dr.) Waheeda Khan in collaboration with Associate Professor Dr. Aqeel Khan conceptualized the idea of organizing this Colloquium. The main objective of the Colloquium was to establish academic collaboration in teaching and research between the two faculties of SGT and UTM and to provide an opportunity to the young scholars of SGT and UTM to present their research work at an international forum. The Colloquium commenced with a welcome note by the moderator Dr. Abu Hassan, followed by a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Zaidatun Tasir, the Dean, FSSH, UTM, Malaysia. Dr. Aqeel Khan, Colloquium Director, FSSH, UTM extended a warm welcome to all. Prof. (Dr.) Rajbir Singh, the Dean FBS addressed and welcomed the guests and the presenters. The two keynote addresses were delivered by Associate Prof. (Dr.) Azlina Kosnin of FSSH-UTM and Prof. (Dr.) Waheeda Khan, FBS-SGT University. In the next session, 10 research scholars of FSSH-UTM and FBS-SGT presented their scholarly research articles that invited much interest in understanding the Psycho-social impact of Covid-19 on the people of Malaysia and India.The closing speech was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Fatin Aliah Phang, the Chair of School of Education, UTM Malaysia. In the end, Prof. Waheeda Khan extended thanks to the faculty and staff of UTM for successfully organizing this virtual event and was hopeful for more collaborative academic activities in the future.
