The Department of Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Behavioral Sciences, SGT University & Hospital and Medical College, Gurgaon, Haryana organized one-day Mental Health camp on 22nd December 2017 in a nearby Mankrola Village. M.Phil Clinical Psychology trainees, Faculties and postgraduate students of Clinical Psychology participated in it. The camp was organized in collaboration with the Village Pradhan. The following key points were the main agenda of the camp:
- Creating awareness among the villagers about various mental health issues like depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, intellectual disability and other commonly prevalent psychological disorders. Group format was used for this purpose using the resources of village administration.
- Educational material was also distributed among them in the form of handouts and pamphlets.
- House to house campaign was also used to achieve the basic objectives of the camp.
- The village community was also equipped with using a strength-based model like increasing happiness, gratitude, and spiritual practices for promoting their mental health.
