Educational Visit to National Brain Research Centre (NBRC)
Faculty of Behavioral Sciences, Department of Clinical Psychology organized an Educational Visit to National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Manesar, Haryana on 1st March 2017. NBRC is the only institute
in India which is dedicated to Neuroscience Research and Education. Scientists and students of NBRC come from diverse academic backgrounds and use multidisciplinary approaches to understand the brain. In this visit students visited three labs. First lab was Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (MRI) lab. In this lab students were explained how MRI is done and they were also explained about various imaging modalities like MR Spectroscopy (MRS) and Functional MRI (fMRI). Second lab was
Electroencephalography (EEG) lab. In this lab, students were shown EEG sensors cap its functioning that how EEG is done. They were told that some disorders like epilepsy, dementia, consciousness and narcolepsy
(sleeping disorder) can be studied by EEG. The third lab was Neuro- AIDS Lab. In this lab students were explained about how researches are done to see the effect of HIV AIDS on brain.
