Group Discussion
Discussions of any sort are supposed to help us develop a better perspective on issues by bringing out diverse viewpoints. Whenever we exchange differing views on an issue, we get a clearer picture of the problem and are able to understand it. The understanding makes us better equipped to deal with the problem. This is precisely the main purpose of a discussion.
Faculty of Behavioral Sciences of SGT University held a Group Discussion among the students on the topic “What makes us happy?” on 4th November 2015.
A group discussion among students is being organized to see and evaluate their thinking skills, listening abilities and how they are communicating their thoughts. This also allows people to walk around a concept in greater detail and learn the topic in depth. This practice is also being applied during campus interviews and selection process.
One should learn to control the conversation through listening attentively and then having the perseverance to mould it towards his/her own direction. Students gave feedback that it was very encouraging as well as enlightening for them!
