Induction Program on 1st to 6th August 2016
Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, department of Clinical Psychology held a six days Induction program from 1st to 6th August 2016. The program was organized for the fresh batch of students admitted to the course of B.Sc. Clinical Psychology. The primary aim of the program was to facilitate the process of student’s adjustment to the new surroundings, curricula; to overcome anxieties and help build new relationships in a positive way. On the very first day, Prof. (Dr.) Waheeda Khan, Dean Faculty of Behavioural Sciences welcomed the students and their parents; introduced them about the university, department and faculty. During six days program, various activities were organized by the faculty members of the department as well as from other faculties, and administrative officials also interacted with the aspiring young minds. Dr. T. D. Dogra, Pro-Chancellor of the university addressed the students and motivated them to pursue their career in the clinical field and blessed them for bright future. Dr. T. K. Sharma, the Registrar, Dr. Kamlesh Kohli, director Medical sciences, Dr. M. S. Sidhu, DSW, Ms. Anjana, Incharge cultural activities, Mrs. Jenniffer Cook, chief warden also provided information and apprised them about various aspects of university system and vibrant life on the campus. Students visited the campus to have first hand view of the facilities on the campus. Faculty members of the department interacted with students and discussed their teaching pedagogy, course ordinance, syllabus, examination system, evaluation, assessment, feedback system and mentor-mentee policy etc. A talk on ‘Autism’ was delivered by Mr. Imran Mushtaq, a research scholar of the department. The Vice Chancellor addressed the students in auditorium and stressed upon discipline, value of hard work and dedication to study to achieve new heights in their careers. On the last day, fun games were held, where students participated in different games with great enthusiasm and enjoyed it lot.
