An orientation program for the new batch of the students was organized by Faculty of Behavioural Sciences on 31st August 2017. The program was well attended by the students and faculty of the department. On this occasion Dr Dhaval Modi Director, RoundGlass Peace was invited to address student’s concerns about their new phase of life and other mental health issues. It is worth mentioning that RoundGlass Peace is an organization with whom the Faculty has a collaboration to organize peer mental health training and awareness workshops. Such workshops will enhance their self-confidence, communication skills, managing stress and challenges in their life. We plan to organize a series of workshops from September to November this year. The students interacted and participated very enthusiastically with Dr Modi and his team. The team appreciated student’s interest, motivation and willingness to be part of peer sensitization program and to become ambassadors mental health awareness program.
Prof. Waheeda Khan, Dean, after lamp lightning ceremony, welcomed the guests and highlighted the usefulness of mental health awareness programs. Dr N K Chandel presented vote if thanks. The program was well coordinated by Ms Dhanwanti Yadav and Ms, Srishti B. Lall along with the team of students.
