11 | Brief Report of the event*3 | Students of the Department of Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Behavioral Sciences went on an excursion to Mcleodganj, Dharamshala and Dalhousie from 15th to 20th Dec., 2021. Dr. Shubhangi Gupta and Dr. Nitesh Kumar Jha from the faculty accompanied the students as teacher in-charge on the trip.
The objective of this outward-bound activity was to develop an appreciation for different culture and to develop team work and bond through adventure activities.
The team reached Mcleodganj in the morning of 16th Dec., 2021 and visited the local attraction Bhagsunag Temple, Waterfall Trek, Mall Road and Dalai Lama Temple. The day ended with a beautiful dinner and an entire night of snowfall.
On the next day 17th Dec., 2021 group headed to the beautiful, completely covered in snow, Triund Trek which is at the height of 2,828 m. The trek began from Dharmkot and the trail took the students through a beautiful forest full of countless trees, flowers, butterflies and birds. The walk was rewarded by stunning view of Dhauladhar mountain ranges on Triund ridge, and on track group enjoyed constant snowfall. Seeing the difficult terrain, the students showcased teamwork and helped each other to reach the maximum height and enjoyed to the fullest.
On the fourth day 18th Dec., 2021, the students were taken to Dharamshala, where they visited the War Memorial and the famous Himachal Pradesh Association Cricket Stadium with the beautiful view of the mountains. Then the group was taken to Khajjiar, also known as the Mini Switzerland of India. The group enjoyed multiple activities including horse-riding, paragliding and other adventure activities. On the way back the students were lucky enough to enjoy a beautiful Langar in the very beautiful Mata Talab Mandir in Jalandhar and then began their journey back to SGT University Campus.
At last the teacher in-charge Dr. Shubhangi Gupta and Dr. Nitesh Kumar Jha thank the students for showing their cooperation and support to each other and maintaining good conduct throughout the trip. Also, students were appreciated for maintaining their enthusiasm, efforts and energy from planning to executing the trip. Moreover, they thank the university authority for granting permission for the trip.
