The B.Sc. and M.Sc students of the Faculty visited Sambandh Foundation, Gurgaon on 27^th January 2016. This rehabilitation centre is home to mentally challenged persons, who are suffering from bipolar and schizophrenic disorders. The students observed that family environment, provided to the inmates, creates a congenial environment for their rehabilitation. The in-house patients are actively engaged in day to day activities, like welcoming the guests and interacting with them. The inmates presented a play on the issues faced by mentally challenged people and how the society should address their concerns. The Centre presents the best example of psycho-social model of treatment in a family setting. The visit was very useful for the students in terms of experiential learning.
