Workshop on Mental Health Issues
Qualitative workshop was organized on 14th of September 2017 by Faculty of Behavioral Sciences (FBS) in collaboration with Round Glass Peace team. It was the second series of workshop with the title “Symptoms of Mental Health Issues”. The workshop was organised with the aim of creating awareness among college students by enhancing their understanding of issues and problems associated with recognizing symptoms of mental illness. On this occasion, Dr. Dhaval Modi Director, Round Glass Peace and Dr. Bhushan delivered an interactive session focusing on how to identify symptoms of Mental health problems within oneself and others and enhance well being among college students. The students interacted and participated actively with Dr. Modi and his team. The students were also encouraged to make a group with other students within a university and act as a mentor of the group in guiding them how to identify and seek help when in need. This exercise would give benefit to the students from other faculties as well. The team would further extend the program in the other upcoming workshops and also wish to assign activities to a student so that they can learn and train others as well. The program was well attended and appreciated by the students and faculties of the department.
Prof. Waheeda Khan, Dean, welcomed the guests and highlighted the usefulness of Mental health awareness program. Dr. Rajbir Singh presented the vote of thanks. The program was coordinated by Ms. Sayma along with other faculty members of the department.
