Workshop on Stress Management for students of Govt
Faculty of Behavioral Sciences, SGT University Gurugram organized a workshop on Stress Management for students of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Budhera, Gurugram on 5th February 2021. The purpose of the workshop was to assess the stress of exam going students and discuss the psychological ways to manage it.
Faculties along with a group of students visited the school and conducted a psychological assessment to assess the stress level of students. Initially, 27 students of Class XII were assessed on measures of stress by the students of the Department of clinical psychology, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences.
The stress management workshop began with the introduction of the speakers Dr. Nandha Kumara Pujam S. (H.O.D., Associate professor, FBSC) and Dr. Vikas Punia (Assistant Professor, FBSC). At first, Dr. Nandha Kumara Pujam tells the students about stress, types of stress and demonstrated the various psychological ways to handle stress such as JPMR, Body scan, and Deep breathing techniques. After that Dr. Vikas Punia, discuss the importance of psychological resources a student should have.
Time management and the Cognitive aspect of stress were also discussed with them.
The workshop ended on a positive note as it helped to create awareness among students on effectively dealing with stress.
