About

Prof Jaswinder Singh is the Executive Dean, Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences and the Faculty of the Commerce and Management. He is also looking after the implementation of National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020), the introduction of online courses and Faculty Development Programmes of the University. He has more than 42 years of teaching and research experience in University of Delhi. He served as Principal, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi, for 18 years and during this tenure set up four centres of national repute:

1. 1. Centre for e-Learning (CfeL) which completed the prestigious e-PG Pathshala projects of UGC under NMEICT of MHRD, Govt. of India, for six subjects namely, Commerce, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Economics, Psychology and Business Economics.
   2. Guru Angad Dev Teaching Learning Centre of MHRD, Govt. of India for training the teachers in ICT enabled education and preparation of e-content and trained around 80,000 teachers all over the nation
   3. National Resource Centre of Chemistry, MoE, Govt of India for training the teachers of Chemistry through Annual Refresher Programme In Teaching (ARPIT)

• Guru Angad Dev  Malviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, MoE, Govt of India, for training the teachers in NEP-2020 and career growth.

After MA (Hons School) Economics from Panjab University, Chandigarh in 1980, he completed his PhD in Agricultural Economics from the same university in 1992. He was the Co-PI in four e-PG Pathshala projects of the UGC ( https://epgp.inflibnet.ac.in/ ) also developed six MOOCs in Economics and two in Business Economics. He has five books on Economics and Sikhism and literature to his credit and published many articles in various journals. He has organised many national and international conferences and has presented numerous papers in these conferences.

He was the UGC Nominee (2015-2019) in the Centre for Studies in Guru Granth Sahib, GNDU, Amritsar; Beant College of Engineering and Technology, Gurdaspur and Convenor, Committee of Courses (Economics), CBSE (2016 onwards). He was the convenor UGC Committee for drafting guidelines for the implementation of Choice Based Credit System, 2015, member UGC Committee for Draft Guidelines for Online Courses, 2017. He was member of the University Court, Pondicherry University (2022-23), Member of Academic Council of the University of Delhi (1994-98, 2014-16, 2020-22) and Executive Council (2015-17). He is the Hon’ry General Secretary of Bhai Vir Singh Sahitya Sadan, New Delhi and was President of the Principals’ Association University of Delhi.
