Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences organized one week induction-2021 program to welcome its newly admitted UG and PG batch. On day one 4th October 2021, Dean FBSC Prof. Rajbir Singh welcomed the students, Prof. N K Chandel introduced the faculty members to the students and guest speaker Prof. Deepti Huda from MD University conducted the ice breaking session with newly admitted batch. Under know your university initiative Students visited B Block of SGT University.
During this they visited Dental expertz clinic and other services provided by Dental College. On the day two of the induction program 5th October 2021, Dean Student Welfare, SGTU addressed the students and explained about the role of DSW office in holistic development of the students. The detailed presentation about Ordinance and course curriculum of UG and PG courses were given by Dr. Amra Ahsan. Importance of Mentor-mentee Program of SGT University discussed by Dr. Nudrat Jahan and, Career and clinical prospect of the psychology was discussed by Dr. Vikas Punia. Introduction of PSYCA- the student association of department of clinical psychology was given to the students and Members of PSYCA explained functioning and role of association to the new batch. Under know your university initiative Students visited A Block of this university. They were welcomed by departments under Fashion design, Mass Communication, Agriculture, Commerce and management and Physical science faculties.
To welcome the student’s tea was also organized by Hotel Management in their restaurants. On day 3, 6th October 2021 of induction students were explained Anti-Ragging Regulation and committee of SGT University by Dr. Nudrat, use of ERP discussed by Hanumant Singh and students visited the university facility. On day 4, 7th October 2021 students participated in the awareness rally and went to Kaliawas village.
This rally aim to create the awareness about mental health in community. On day 5th the awareness rally held in the university in which student participated. Students also visited the D Block of the university. On day 6th newly inducted student visited the exhibition held on the occasion of world mental health day-2021 organized by PSYCA. They also attended the closing ceremony of three days World Mental Health-2021 events. In this ceremony students were greeted and addressed by Pro. Vice Chancellor Prof. N S. Tung and Prof. (Dr.) Waheeda Khan. On day 7 time table and syllabus were distributed among the students, and followed by that feedback session of Induction program were held. Overall induction program was successful in achieving its objectives.
