Dr. Navkiran Kalsi
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
About
Dr. Navkiran Kalsi is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences.
She has done an integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s in Cognitive-Neurosciences. She later worked at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS, Bangalore) as a Junior Research Fellow on a project. She, later, received an international scholarship to pursue Ph.D. from La Sapienza- University of Rome (Rome, Italy). Following her Ph.D., she received a Post-Doctoral Fellowship for her project on Electrophysiological correlates of Problematic Internet Use from the Cognitive sciences Research Initiative of Department of Science and Technology of India. She undertook this work at the Brain Mapping Lab of Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi.
Her expertise lies in understanding the role of emotions in cognitive processes in clinical and as well as healthy population. She has rich experience of working with the Brain Mapping tools like Quantitative EEG, fNIRS, fMRI and TMS. She is currently establishing a simulation Laboratory in the Department to use Virtual Reality as a tool to understand brain and behaviour and as a tool for psychological interventions.
