๐…๐š๐œ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐๐ž๐ก๐š๐ฏ๐ข๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ and Social ๐’๐œ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž๐ฌ, ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐๐ฌ๐ฒ๐œ๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ฒ did a field visit at ๐๐‚๐ˆ-๐€๐ˆ๐ˆ๐Œ๐’, Jhajjar, Haryana. The visit was done on 19th April 2023 along with 12 students from the Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PDCP) program and B.A. (Hons) psychology final year batch and two faculty coordinators- Ms. Megha Sharma, Assistant Professor and Dr.Shallu Joon, Assistant professor. Here trainees were exposed to the PCM Unit (Palliative care medicine) of the hospital.
There were cases related to adenocarcinoma, oesophagus cancer, oral cancer, liver SOL, cervical cancer and many more. Most of them were either in their stage 4 or at terminal stages where it cannot be cured. Trainees were asked to interact with them and their caregivers and take brief history or any psychological issues they were facing currently. Most of the patients were open to share and express themselves.
Overall, it was an extremely learning experience and exposure for the trainees which was successfully executed.
